This last weekend was a big one for the Burrs. Matt's coffeehouse - Mead's Corner - opened its doors. It has been a raving success so far. They opened at 6:30 am Friday morning. My dad was the first customer. Go Dad! They were completely swamped on Friday. We saw lots of familiar faces. The Joshes, Rachael and Barrett celebrated with us Friday night. They drove all the way from Overbrook. The actual grand opening is this coming Friday. Matt is very excited - but so exhaused - he can hardly walk straight. We are very very proud of him.
Playin' in the leaves.
Sadie loves to play outside - even when it is freezing cold. I get her all bundled up - send her out the door.

One of Sadie's favorite games. She is throwing plastic hangers down the stairs. Fun!
Matt and I were unpacking some books - and Sadie decided to "help" us by climbing inside the box. we noticed that the box happened to be one that we got from the Ridgway liquor store when we moved. So - we thought that a "living the high life" picture would be funny!

Sadie had a very fun Halloween. we went to Betsey and Jonny' s church for their fall festival. They had a lot of booths for little toddlers. Sadie's favorite was the balloon room. we went to that room twice! Sadie was dressed as a little flower. She wasn't interested in the candy - just the games. Enjoy the pictures.

Just doing my nails!
Sadie and I joined some friends at the zoo this last week. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time. In the picture - you will see Sadie, Hannah, Olivia, Cole, Whitney and Ethan. They are all posing by the gorillas - of course!

Matt was gone for part of the week - so it was just us girls. we spent a lot of time playing outside. Sadie collected leaves, stick and rocks. She also moved rocks from one side of the driveway to the other side. She discovered that it was fun to pour her water out on the driveway. Unfortunately - a lot of the water ended up on her pants! Hope you enjoy the new pictures.

Well - I am going to give this a try. We have been using babysites - but - I thought this might be fun. Sadie isn't really a baby anymore. We have so many dear friends that are far away from us - (that is what you get for moving so much) hopefully this will be a good way to keep you all updated.
Sadie is walking everywhere. Her favorite thing is to play outside. She loves sticks, rocks, leaves and dirt. She sure doesn't mind getting dirty.

Matt is loving his job. They are still hoping to open the coffee house at the end of October. He has a lot of meetings to attend. October will be a busy month of preparation. They have started the demolition of their building and the construction phase will start soon.
I am loving being here in Wichita. I am finding my way around pretty well now. It took me a while to remember - and the Riverside area was new to me. Sadie and I are a part of a Mommy and preschoolers group that we love. Sadie loves to play with friends.

This last Saturday was free museum day here in Wichita. We went to the Wichita art museum and then to Exploration place. Exploration place has an entire area for kids under 3. She had a blast. She was most excited to discover the water table. I think she could have played in it all day. She was completely soaked. She poured and splashed like crazy.

Last week we went to Botanica with Uncle Jonny and Aunt Betsey. As it turns out - Sadie loves fish. We spent about 30 minutes feeding and watching the fish. I think Sadie would have jumped right in with them if we would have let her.
She is trying to mimic all kinds of words. She likes to say "bump-bump" when we are in the car and quack-quack when we see birds, geese or ducks. She even said "cool" the other day after I said it.
Enjoy the pictures.
